RARE Axe Restoration - With VIKING engravings

Publicado em 20 Fev 2021
Very rare Axe Restoration. This time I restore an antique axe and add some very awesome viking modifications and engravings to the metal.

I really do not know much about this axe. I had it for a couple of years, waiting for the right time to make the restoration video. I bought it from a guy who found it here in Sweden.

I started by sandblasting the axe and removed it from the handle who was “homemade” of some worthless wood. I welded the strange hole there was in the metal. I also changed the form on the head to better fit a real handle. I chose a beautiful and long hickory wood handle to get the Nordic Viking battle axe look. I also hardened the metal and gave it a black look by dipping it in oil.

I made a very cool viking laser engraving of a Nordic Eagle who has a role in the Nordic Mythology. I also did some very beautiful decorations in both ends of the axe shaft also with Nordic Viking engravings. The one attached on the top Is some random Viking knots and the one in the bottom of the shaft is the Valknut “The knot of slain warriors”

I am VERY satisfied with this restoration video and I hope that you enjoy it too. Please subscribe if you want to see more cool upcoming projects 🙂 And DON’T forget to see the OLD NORDIC HAMMER RESTORATION - brdown.net/top/daSomrbdhWmSmZM/video Thanks for watching my channel. See you soon.

  • Personally think you over did it, especially with the blade detail..kinda made it look like a child designed it Ah well not everyone is a W

  • Ngomong apa kleen woy

  • کس مادرت

  • Reuse the wood man. Saves some trees at least

  • The same one because it feels nice

  • no

  • Repair the hole?????. Noooo it was a meaningful and useful customization if it was actually antique.

  • 👍

  • Brock lesnar would approve

  • The laser sounds like a Superman movie when they add the sound effects in. Awesome video

  • Old Handle

  • Se q no soy el único q piensa q pasará si le mete el dedo a los láser

  • Buah en qué año vives, en mi puta vida había visto una grabadora láser wtf

  • use the beautiful hickory wood pls

  • Original handle, nice old school look

  • Not viking engraving unless it was done by a viking

  • (2:58) if that’s a pinch of sugar then I have $1,000,000,000

  • Bro that wasn’t a pinch of sugar that was like five little specks of sugar

  • I hear barred owls in the background, have them here too but not in Sweden.

  • That's really awesome. I'm guessing that the symbol is a phoenix.

  • hhmmmm i like it

  • In love with the lazar machine !!!

  • song?

  • It's going too far in my opinion. The axe has lost its original cachet with the new handle and laser engravings. Great workmanship nonetheless.

  • Why is the small hole closed (welded) even though it is part of the Viking Ax feature which has a ring in the hole.

  • Старый заброшенный фалас востановить можешь. Подстертый?

  • con esa tecnologia hasta una lata de cerveza se puede transformar en un diamante

  • Macaradao

  • old

  • 6:40 its a one bird of odin's bird army

  • That laser engrave is sick

  • What was the reason it needed more heat what did you feel in the metal as you was hitting it ?

  • бро как я тащусь от твоего канала!!!!

  • The new wood

  • 0:37... Is that Ragnar from tv show Vikings you've added to the shot?! 😁

  • Ñ

  • You restored the weapon itself and you did a great work man but honestly a piece of history like the axe itself it’s more valuable for history collectors as it was found you could have made a ton of money selling it as it was it depends it’s age.

  • عمل جبار يدل على مهنيه وحرفيه اكثر من مبدع شكرًا لك

  • Máquina braba

  • Thank you keep em coming Loving it addicted.👍👍

  • 6:40 It Is a Phoenix

  • Тут есть русские?

  • *Read my name*

  • ai người vn không

  • Way too many calls to action for one video. Give it a rest.

  • Cʟɪᴍᴀx ᴡᴀs ᴏᴘ💖

  • ᴛʜᴀᴛ ʜɪᴅɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴇ ᴄᴀᴍᴇʀᴀ ᴡɪᴛʜ ʙᴀʟᴄᴋ ᴘᴀᴘᴇʀ ᴡʜɪʟᴇ ᴡᴇʟᴅɪɴɢ ᴡᴀs ᴀᴡᴇsᴏᴍᴇ

  • Well, it clearly wasn't authentic.

    • If you read my description you will see that I never claimed that this is from the Viking era 😉

  • Bang lu orang indo?

  • amazing

  • you are a god blacksmith. cool artful

  • that's very nice!!!!!

  • I would bring the axe back after killing someone 🥴

  • It's all fun and games until he starts playing Skyrim in real life...

  • who else finds this strangely satisfying besides me ?

  • สวัดดีครับ🥰

  • it can be made for tauwran, aha😂

  • lol i like how in fiction they make Vikings looks like master architects with menacing looking weapons but in reality this is how most of their junk looked. as primitive as you can get.

  • Use the old wood, its an ancient weapon, you can keep it together as much as possible, its worth more.

    • Unfortunately the old handle wasn't good enough for this project but I keep it and use it another time 😉

  • what the heck

  • That's just a regular Rusty Hatchet I went to the Tractor Supply store in seeing one they even see weld on their two already after you sandblasted it

  • 0:36 Nice Travis Fimmel "cameo" LOL

  • Personally... I'd keep the old stick until it finally beats it. (Which hopefully with something potentially that old- just wouldn't happen. Edit: Nvm, lol. Thought you meant the axe already had viking engravings...) Cool laser engraver though... I want one :)

  • Mmmm yo creo que el palo nuevo

  • The end result disappointed me ...

  • 100% the old stick. Personally for me the handle of the weapon holds as much history, if not more, than the axe head so seeing a truly antique piece modernized is really cool!

  • Does anyone else feel like it would look alot cooler if the handle wasn't so far above the age head, I mean don't get me wrong it was amazing work, just seeing if that's my personal preference and I'm crazy

  • Also did you make that 3lb sledge or did you buy it somewhere and if you bought it where? I do like my solid estwing one but I'd replace it for that one any day just for the cool factor lol

  • I really like how you put that black tinted box over your welding arc, I hate when videos show direct welding arcs, I know you won't get like welders flash from ot on a video but it still hurts my eyes and gives me a headache, I always kinda look away just as a habit of being on construction sites for so long

  • Is that.....is that the LEVIATHAN AXE!!!!!

  • stupid gongon! what if handle brokes??? RIVETS? stupid gongn!

  • The old one please 😋

  • I'm not totally sure I believe how rare or how viking this axe is.

  • Tôi không biết bn là người Việt Nam hay sao mà có phụ đề tiếng việt

  • You know what else would be cool, if you ,are or got a cover for it to cover the metal

  • Use the old stick pls because for history

    • Unfortunately the old handle wasn't good enough for this project but I keep it and use it another time 😉

  • You know, I’m not sure that’s an “axe”, persay…. Let me think, where have I seen something like that before…? Hmm, I think Tonto’s minifigure used one of those in the Lego Lone Ranger Sets based off that movie they made some years ago….

  • We need Jake the Viking to certify this

  • Great Seeing a Man taking Pride in his work. My Father at least drilled that in me. So if your building a Shit House you do it right.👍

  • Super

  • egol

  • Beautifully done

  • Gostei muito do video foi bem trabalhoso restaurar esse machado, mais eu acho que o esforço rendeu um bom final

  • i think that you should reuse this wooden stick

  • Good video. Subcribed

  • my english is really bad but i must say this film is very nice. good work. ;)

  • At 13:35 the song sounds like it was saying “Hush SING”

  • Good job

  • Owesome

  • Use the old stick

    • Unfortunately the old handle wasn't good enough for this project but I keep it and use it another time 😉
